There is some debate about whether paraffin candles are toxic. At this stage it appears that the safest thing is to purchase beeswax candles.

2. Claim that soy candles are better than paraffin candles "Soy wax is non-toxic and does not produce the dangerous toxic soot that paraffin candles do."

3. Paraffin is non-toxic "most fruits and vegetables have an edible coating of paraffin wax on them."
   "Soy or Soya is considered one of the most important food allergens"
4. No candle wax has ever been shown to be toxic or harmful to human health
